The voltage of a real Direct Current Voltage Source (battery) will (unfortunately) decrease as more current is drawn from it (or as less resistance R_L is there).

Other sources - for example transformators with DC conversion -, on the other hand, will artificially limit the current that can be drawn for safety reasons.
