25. Symmetry

Definition

A thing is symmetrical with respect to an operation O when it appears exactly the same after applying that operation O as is was appearing before.

Symmetries:

Each symmetry implies a conservation law.

Conservation Laws

Relativity of Time => Conservation of energy.

Relativity of Space Translation => Conservation of linear momentum.

Relativity of Space Rotation => Conservation of angular momentum.

Conservation of charge.

Conservation of baryons.
